War is Hell on The Home Front Too

Once again David Bradford found himself in a familiar position; butt naked over the lap of his Top.

Events had been leading up to this moment for about a week now, ever since Oliver left to cover the war in Iraq. Oliver Newman was a correspondent for Associate Press and his work sometimes puts him in dangerous situations, which causes his Brat to become very anxious. Oliver knows this, so he leaves instructions that David is not permitted to watch any news broadcast when Oliver is gone.

Whenever Oliver goes away he leaves David in the capable hands of his best friend and mentor, Elliot Potter. Oliver and Elliot’s relationship goes back to Oliver’s first days at the head office of the Associate Press where Elliot served as the bureau chief for domestic situations.

Elliot made no secret that he was gay and that he was in a lifetime relationship with his partner. It was this revelation, and the fact Oliver was also gay, that drew the two men together. Oliver was often invited to Elliot and Don’s home for an evening of great food and interesting conversation. It was Oliver who stood by Elliot’s side as he watched his partner grow weaker and weaker by the affects of Aids and it was Oliver who Elliot called first when his partner finally lost his battle.

It was also during these many nights of food and talk that Oliver learned Elliot and Don were in a disciplinary relationship. He asked many a question about this and was very intrigued by how much help, if done properly, this can bring to a relationship, and how it can bring a couple closer together.

Through the years Elliot watched Oliver with various partners and came to the conclusion that Oliver was definitely a Top and helped him fine tune this part of his character. These instructions became invaluable to Oliver when he met the love of his life, David Bradford.

David worked for a major mediation firm whose office was once located on the top floor of the World Trade Centre. 911 brought the two men together, when Oliver was covering the terror attack and doing stories on heroes of the historical event. It was during interviews with men and women who had helped their fellow employees down the many flights of stairs of the World Trade Centre that the two connected.

It was instant kismet as David likes to tell it. They started dating about a week after the interviews and about a year later, decided to move in together. The brownstone next to Elliot’s became available, so the two men snapped it up.

It wasn’t long after the two started dating when Oliver came to the conclusion that this young man was a total brat and needed a strong hand to guide him through life. The first time Oliver took matters into his own hands was after an engagement party of sorts for a couple of friends who had decided to have a commitment ceremony.

David had a tendency to take his work home with him. At this particular time, he was working on a mediation involving a labor dispute. It was a very volatile situation which left David in a very bad mood. During the dinner party, he became moody and argumentative to a point where he started becoming obnoxious. At one point, Oliver took him aside and whispered in his ear that if he didn’t stop behaving in such a matter, he would discover the art of discipline in a relationship.

David, not thinking Oliver was serious, toned it down some but continued arguing with their host over the rights of gay marriage and societies feelings on the subject. Finally, Oliver couldn’t take it any more and after saying their goodbyes, he took David by the arm and led him down the street to the underground parking area. Once they reached Oliver’s car, and after looking around to make sure there was no one about, the older man pushed David down over the hood and delivered a sound spanking.

After a round of yelps and pleads for mercy, David finally succumbed to tears. At that moment, as David later explained to Oliver, it was like an epiphany. He never felt such calmness, security and reassurance in his life. Crying in Oliver’s arms, he was at peace and there in the dark parking lot, their discipline relationship was formed.

They drove home in silence, with David cuddling as close has he could. Over a bottle of wine in front of a warm fire, Oliver spoke candidly to David about what discipline would mean to their relationship and asked the young man if he would be willing to give control over to Oliver in certain matters. Just as Oliver had asked Elliot questions, David did the same. Finally satisfied with the answers given, the two men began to form a list of rules that would set the stage for their new found relationship.

They both agreed as their relationship grew, the rules may change somewhat but the basic ones would remain with the main one being David was not to take his work home with him. If he did and things got out of hand, disciplinary action would be taken.

As they grew closer, other rules were formed such as; David was not to touch Oliver’s photography equipment or go into the photography studio Oliver had set up in the basement of the brownstone without permission, David was not to watch any news that would upset him when Oliver was away and when Oliver was on assignment, David was to move in next door with Elliot. The two men agreed that Elliot would be permitted to discipline David if the need arose but only with David’s pants on. The two men also agreed that Oliver would use only use his hand in carrying out the discipline in most situations, but if David crossed the line and put himself or Oliver’s life or reputation in jeopardy, a hairbrush or other implement may be used, if Oliver deemed it was necessary.

During the six years the two have been together, Oliver only had to use an implement a couple of times. The other occasions had only required David being placed over his Top’s lap with his bare butt being exposed for a few moments of spanking with Oliver’s strong hand, and this is where David presently found himself because of his actions while Oliver had been off on his latest assignment.

Oliver had been assigned to accompany the third battalion, C Company of the US Marines that was fighting a group of insurgents in a remote area of Iraq. Things got out of hand and before they knew it, the enemy had backtracked to begin firing on the Marines from behind. Bullets and ground missiles were coming from all directions and Oliver was broadcasting live through the whole event.

At one time a grenade or other sort of explosive device landed in the foxhole from which the camera crew was reporting, and for a several terrifying moments, all hell broke loose. The microphone was blown out of Oliver’s hand and the video camera flew ten feet into the air. After the air was cleared, the only damage was a piece of flying shrapnel that caused a non-life-threatening wound to Oliver’s scalp.

The whole world watched as Oliver with blood streaming down his face continued his report and among those watching, despite his orders not to do so, was David Bradford.

As he sat, completely shocked, in the staff room at work, watching the man he loved bleed to death, David tried to get a hold of Oliver with no results. His panic at the thought of never seeing Oliver again sent him into an uncontrollable panic attack. He ran out of the room without thought or reason, and without letting his superiors know he was leaving for the day. Meetings had to be cancelled or rescheduled because of David’s absence, which did not endear him to his boss.

By the time David arrived at Elliot’s, he was completely out of control. He had tried several more times to reach Oliver only for the call to be forwarded to an answering service. He slammed the door so hard when he entered the dwelling, it caused a precious vase Elliot loved to topple over and smash into hundreds of small pieces over the hardwood floor. He then practically knocked Elliot over as he made his way into the den and turned on the television to Fox News.

Elliot heard the young man repeat over and over to himself, “Nothing, nothing, they’re not showing anything else; Oliver, where the hell are you?”

Elliot walked over the TV and as per Oliver’s instructions, turned off the set. David jumped up and in a very disrespectful tone, ordered Elliot to turn it back on. Elliot being a man who didn’t take bull from anyone, quickly realized David was out of control. He immediately grabbed hold of the younger man and without pretence, laid a number of solid smacks on the cotton-covered behind.

When the sobs finally came, Elliot placed David on the sofa next to him and gently rubbed his back while explaining to him the reason he’d been punished. After taking a few controlling breaths, David began to calm down. When the older man saw David was calm enough to listen, he told his houseguest Oliver had contacted him, was all right but said he would be out of contact for a few hours while being debriefed. He would be taking the next available flight out of Bagdad.

“Are you going to tell him what happened here?” David quietly asked.

“What do you think, David; have I ever held anything back from Ollie?”

“No sir, I guess you haven’t. I’m really going to get it when he gets home, eh?”

Elliot chuckled as he ruffled David’s brunette hair. “Oh yes, I think a very sore bottom is definitely in your future.”

And Elliot had been right on; because here he was over Oliver’s knee feeling the full wrath of breaking rule number two.

It didn’t matter that when Oliver came home, David has flown into his arms, laying kisses all over him and telling him time and time again how much he loved him and how much he had missed him and how frightened he had been. It didn’t matter that Oliver stated the same and that they had made sweet love as soon as they got back to their place.

No rules are rules and after their love making was over and they lay in each others arms, Oliver brought up the fact that Elliot had had a short chat with him. He then asked David for his side of the story.

David considered lying a bit to his partner, but decided to do so would only get him in worse trouble. Therefore, he confessed to the whole matter and then waited anxiously for Oliver to make his move. He didn’t have to wait long.

Oliver slipped out of bed and sat on the end of it before ordering the young man to come over and assume the position.

Slowly David crawled over to Oliver’s side and reluctantly fell over Oliver’s lap, with his bare butt in the air.

As the first slap fell, Oliver asked David why he was getting punished.

“Because I broke our second important rule and watched the news,” he tearfully answered.

“Very good, baby; you know why we have that rule. It is because you really get upset, don’t you?”

“Yes sir,” he agreed between yelps of oww….oww…oww, as the slaps came hard and fast.

“Because of your actions, you also showed disrespect to your boss and to Elliot, is that not right?”

“Yes….yes Sir,” David admitted, wailing out his remorse. “I am really sorry and I will apologize to them, I promise.”

“Oh, you most certainly will,” Oliver firmly stated as he laid five more hard smacks down on David’s red, hot butt. “You will also make financial amends to Elliot for the loss of his vase and you will personally make up the time, free of charge, to your boss when you reschedule the meeting; understood?”

“I….I….Owwww…..yes, Oliver, I understand. Please…I’m sorry….please, stop!”

Huge sobs were coming from the young man and Oliver knew he had learned his lesson. He rolled him off his lap and into the middle of the bed to take him into his arms and rocked him until the crying turned into tiny snores. Before long Oliver was also asleep.

When the two awoke, they got up and fixed themselves something to eat, then cuddled up in front of the TV to watch one of their favorite movies. All was forgiven and forgotten. Tomorrow was another day.

The End.
